Publix Joins 4th Annual Fiesta Georgia

Support Youth Soccer Initiative

ATLANTA (September 22, 2011) – The Fiesta Georgia is proud to announce Publix as a partner for the 4th annual event on Sunday, September 25. Publix will support the Fiesta Georgia Youth Soccer Tournament and also have a display area for all to enjoy. Hosted by Lanza Group, LLC, the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration takes place at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA.

“With Publix’s existing Youth Soccer Initiative, supporting the Fiesta Georgia Youth Soccer Tournament and the Latino community was a fit,” said Brenda Reid, Community Relations Manager of Publix. “We are excited to partner with Fiesta Georgia and look forward to being in the community on Sunday the 25th.”

Publix will support the Fiesta Georgia Youth Soccer Tournament that takes place during Fiesta Georgia. Publix is proud to support Youth Soccer as a way for kids, parents and coaches to come together in the spirit of healthy competition and learn true sportsmanship. The sport of soccer encourages healthy lifestyles through nutrition and fitness —from reducing obesity to inspiring integrity and strength of character in our youth. Local Atlanta non-profit Soccer in the Streets will facilitate the tournament with referees and staff. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and games will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The top winning teams will receive gift cards to an area soccer apparel shop and prizes from Publix as well.

The 4th annual Fiesta Georgia serves as the kick-off to Hispanic Heritage month festivities with a free, daylong celebration with two Latin music stages featuring Regional Mexican artists, authentic Latin foods, children’s entertainment, and arts and crafts vendors.
